The dreaded medical examination

In order to get a resident permit, all foreigners are required to undergo a medical examination. It pretty much covers everything and includes blood tests, X-rays, abdominal scans, eye tests and a host of other nasty things :(

While the hospital we went to wasn”t particularly nice, all the equipment they used on us was new and, most importantly, clean - especially the (disposable) needles that came out of airtight sterilized packs. To be honest, the only really annoying aspect of the medical examination was that we were not allowed to eat or drink anything in the morning .

Nevertheless, the initial scans and tests went well and, to the best of our knowledge, we are both relatively healthy. We have to wait another week for the blood tests to come back and after that we should be able to get our permit (In China it is important the note that nothing is ever clear-cut. The closest you can get to certainty is maybe).
