The feeding of the 5000!

Well, it’’s nearly Christmas and, with the exception of some crudely placed decorations and the occasional dancing Santa, China is pretty much carrying on as normal. However, in order to bring some much needed festive cheer to the east, last week we promised the kids that instead of their normal classes we would have some mini Christmas parties and let them watch some movies. In a moment of madness we also promised that we would bring along candy for all, which, in hindsight, was a pretty dumb thing to say considering we teach about 1200 kids. Nevertheless, we have kept to our word and have been making daily trips to the supermarket to stock up on all things sugary.

Anyway, we”re halfway though the week and I have so far watched the first 1/3 of Harry Potter about 5 times. I”ve tried to convince them to watch a different film but each class insists that they want to watch Mr. Potter and his magical antics. Things aren”t all bad however as this continual viewing has given me a chance to analyze the Harry Potter formula and, consequently, discover mistakes. My findings are shocking, disturbing and, well… shocking - Harry Potter is only capable of one facial expression. Don”t believe me? Check out this conclusive proof!

Oh, there’’s more…

Look into my eyes, you will watch this movie and you will like it. Ye shall tell all your friends to come and see this quality film. Do not defy me or I shall place a Babbling Curse upon ye.
