Hectic!!!
Phew, we”ve been so busy over the last couple of weeks and the time has just slipped away. I can”t believe we”re already half-way through March - we”ve only got about 3 months left in China.
Compared with last term things have become pretty hectic. We are teaching more hours and have also started up private classes on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. The kids in the private classes are a bit younger than our normal students but their ability is still (with some noticeable exceptions) high. Whilst the extra money is nice, planning and staging the lessons takes up a lot of time and sometimes we”re in doubt as to whether it’’s all worth it. The thing is, Tuesday’’s class is brilliant but Wednesday’’s class is becoming a bit of a hassle. The kids on Wednesday are all younger and therefore require a lot more ”crowd control” than their Tuesday counterparts. Lessons with them always seem to involve at least one spilt drink, one kid falling over and a number of seemingly harmless objects becoming deadly projectiles. We”ll see how it goes…
All this extra work has meant that we haven”t been able too venture out of Jiaxing much and, with the exception of one trip to Shanghai, we haven”t really been anywhere - excluding the weekly grocery run. However, this Saturday we”re meeting up with some students for some photos and then, on Sunday, we”re meeting up with some more for lunch - so things aren”t all bad.
